Byron Gamble is a Los Angeles-based film director, writer, and producer originally from Omaha, Nebraska. Raised in Omaha, Gamble developed an early fascination with filmmaking and visual storytelling before leaving the Midwest to pursue a career in entertainment.
Since relocating to Los Angeles, Gamble has built a multidisciplinary career across film, television, music, and digital media, working with some of the most distinctive voices in contemporary entertainment. His collaborators and clients have included Trixie Mattel, Monét X Change, Orville Peck, Demi Lovato, Emily Armstrong, Chloë Black, and The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula.
During his work with Trixie Mattel, Gamble contributed to work recognized by the Queerties, adding to a career that has increasingly placed him at the intersection of filmmaking, music, comedy, drag, and queer culture. He has since worked extensively with RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Monét X Change as a director, producer, editor, and photographer, developing and producing original entertainment and digital programming.
Gamble’s narrative work includes the horror short Whitenoise, which received the Silver Award for Best Experimental Short and Bronze Award for Best Horror Short at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles. His work reflects a particular interest in horror, heightened visual worlds, identity, and unconventional characters.
His career has also included work connected to television, live entertainment, editorial photography, and music, giving Gamble an unusually hands-on background across the creative process—from concept development and directing through cinematography, production, and post-production.
Now working full-time as a film director in Los Angeles, Gamble is focused on narrative filmmaking and the development of his feature film work. From his beginnings in Omaha to a career collaborating with internationally recognized artists in Los Angeles, his work is defined by bold visual storytelling, genre filmmaking, and a distinctly queer creative perspective.
